what's ur process for writing fics?
GALAXY! Thank you for the ask dear heart! ππ«Άπ»
My writing process is one of rigorous self discipline that I would require no one else to subject themselves to!
I have four "Outlining" stages.
1.) Concept Stage
2.) Character Arcs
3.) Synopsis Stage
4.) Chapter Outline.
I'm not going to go super into detail, but the way I start every writing project, which I believe is def the most important thing to know for everyone who loves writing and growing their skill is the Concept stage.
It follows this very simple structure;
[Sympathetic character] must reach a goal [believability] because if not they will lose something vital [high stakes], but what they donβt know is [twist].
The concept WILL contain spoilers because it's mostly for yourself and helps you already know how the story will end and how you need to get to said end. I'll show an example but it will be leaving out the *twist* which is where most of the spoilers are.
This is how all my stories start off, and I simply build up from there!
Also, for fics specifically, I always Write In Advance. That is the only way I can keep myself from burning out, esp bc sometimes interaction can be a little low and it helps when I have a backlog. Usually I'll write at least 20 chapters in advance and then start publishing it to Ao3.

Hopefully this inspires anyone trying to write their own story and gives them a good jumping off point
Happy writing! π«Άπ»ππ€
P.S... I've started doing a new thing where I've made a bullet point list of very important symbols and motifs I will need to sprinkle throughout my stories.
In my upcoming Serial Killer story... The curtains... Are not JUST blue...
That's all I will say however,,, about that.
